To quote some of the breathless prose:
" – and then the Colt!
The Colt-sea-born, epoch making bearer of victories, arbiter of strife, "The Arm of Law and Order!"
It was in 1830, on the good ship Corlo, Calcutta-bound, out of Boston that an inspiration came to the youthful Samuel Colt. And with his pocket knife he whittled in wood the idea which made six guns in one; the idea which revolutionized the armaments of governments and thenceforth guided the destinies of nations.
Six years later, in Paterson, New Jersey the original Colt was made by the Patent Arms Manufacturing Company.
In three of the Civil War Years Colt’s new plan in Hartford , Conn., furnished 317,920 revolvers – fine models, worthy predecessors of the scientific Colt of today – the gun which, in automatic form, shot respect into the whole world’s foe on the battlefields of France.
Through model after model, war after war, peace after peace, the Colt has lead the way, and by Government, recognition became- and is still- the standard firearm of the world!
Straight-shooting, Hard-hitting, unfailingly reliable, the Colt’s unique history is snugly interwoven with that of the nation. The Colt appeals to he-men who shoot to hit- bull’s eyes, animals or midnight marauders.
Now read of Colt’s progress, of the marvelous Colts of now and the equally marvelous Colts of long ago… "
