Beginning just after Christmas in 1956 and continuing for the next four years, Winchester engineer A.A. Arnold produced an amazing series of gun manuals. He drew scores of drawings for each gun Winchester made at the time depicting in great detail everything an owner or gunsmith needed to know to disassemble, service and re-assemble their weapon. Each manual took Arnold months to prepare and to the best of our knowledge the set was never mass produced. Each page is truly a masterpiece and if you own one of these guns you should have the companion book. Some guns like the Model 42 have over 100 plates! We were lent a set of the original drawings by a generous collector in New Hampshire and reproduce manuals for Models 37, 42, 50, 61, 63, 69a, 70, 72, 75, 88, 94, 12 and 12 Featherweight.

Tai Chi to you too!
Two new studies found that tai chi may be beneficial in protecting memory for seniors with mild cognitive impairment, and in slowing symptom progression for those with Parkinson’s disease. The practice has a wide range of benefits for both the brain and the body, experts agreed. Oh, and while we are at it, eat strawberries and blueberries too.

Say, Bill, did you do the pre-flight inspection?
Air accident investigators have revealed an aircraft departed from London last month with two missing window panes. The Titan Airways Airbus A321 was flying from London Stansted Airport to Orlando International Airport, Florida, on October 4 but had to quickly turn around and fly back to London after the damage was discovered. Four window panes were damaged and two were missing according to a report by the UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB). As the aircraft climbed to about 10,000 feet, passengers complained of a loud noise in the cabin and cold temperatures.

Stock in Bond
The world’s oldest bond turns 400 in January. Made from goatskin, the “perpetual” bond made out by the Dutch water authority to fund the repair of a dike on the Rhine River in 1624 still pays out an annual interest of roughly $17.48.

By Scaglietti sold for $51.7 million at a Sotheby’s auction Nov. 13 in New York City. It was the most expensive Ferrari ever to sell at auction. The sale was a disappointment to Sotheby based on a pre-sale estimate.

Nightcap(s)
A former commissioner for Clayton County, Georgia is suing for wrongful dismissal after she was fired for passing out in the street outside a bar and cursing first responders. Felicia Frankin’s lawsuit contends she was unwittingly drugged inside the bar. Police said security footage showed her drinking at least three “That’s a Home Run” cocktails, made with Hennesy and Grand Marnier.

Ticks that can kill a cow
An invasive species of tick is creeping its way across the eastern U.S., killing livestock in its wake as it travels west. These Asian Longhorned Ticks, which were only found in the U.S. for the first time in 2017, have now been discovered on pets, livestock, wildlife, and people across 19 U.S. states, scientists have said. The invasive ticks were even found to be responsible for the deaths of three cows in Ohio, having bitten them thousands of times to the point that the cows died of blood loss.

The website seems to be working properly now. It’s been a long haul and I appreciate everyone who has stuck with us during our venture into “e-commerce”.
This a a photo of Lake Michigan taken in South Haven, Michigan, on the Eastern shore. The palm tree is a joke in front of an old restaurant and the mounds are ice piled up by the wind and covered with sand. There was no surf or standing water, just ice this cold day in January. |

AR7 and 7s Explorer Survival Rifle by Charter Arms: Does this Come with parts or just list? Zardlife (ebay)
Parts? Well let’s see, a pint of blueberries cost $9.45 at Kroger yesterday and this flyer costs $2.95. Parts to make a rifle for $2.95, what do you think? Rob for cornellpubs

Madsen c1930 Machine Gun Argentine Model 1926 Manual: Is the cloth cover shown what you send or is the cover regular papier. Thanks fill-a-bag (ebay)
The cover is heavy cover stock (paper), not cloth. We could not afford to bind the booklet in cloth for $16.95. You must scroll down under all the ebay advertising to see the contents and description of the item. Hope this helps, Rob for cornellpubs

Colt Woodsman Manual: Hello, Would you make an exeption and ship to Switzerland? Regards, George cskdt (ebay)
I believe eBay will ship to you, we are set up for international shipping through eBay. If the answer is no, then you should contact eBay and ask why. I hope this helps, Rob for cornellpubs

Are you still doing business ? When I did a search it said “Permanently closed”. Joachim
Hi Joachim, We are open. I gather you are in Europe from your email address, where did you find the notice that told you we were closed? We can try to fix it if we know where to look. Cheers, Rob
I was going to buy the Walther LP53 flier . But there seems to be a problem with the check o Joachim
Hi Joachim, What a mess! Well, we are open and I can send you an e-invoice for the Walther if you are stateside. We do need to know your address because if you are overseas we only sell PDFs of our publications. It is too difficult for us to collect all the import duty and taxes for each country. I am sorry for the trouble you had and we want to fix it. Cheers, Rob

Hi Tom, I don’t disagree with you that the image is thin. The problem is that the original was printed on tissue paper and there is nothing I can do to increase the contrast without ruining what there is of the image. You can see the contrast of the text is fine. Unfortunately, that is the only copy I’ve seen for the Wamo. I’m attaching a PDF of the file, it may be easier for you to see parts. I hope this helps. As you can imagine, reprinting 6000 old and different publications has its challenges! Cheers, Rob
Hello Rob, Thank you for the response and PDF. The PDF image is much better. Have a great Thanksgiving and take care, Tom
I’ll use the new image in the paper copy too, I’m glad it worked out, I had my doubts fiddling with it!

Good Evening, Any thought of a reprint of Douglas Murry The Eighty-Eight collectors reference. Thin booklet on the Winchester Model 88, author dead, impossible to find for sale. Thank You. Bob
I’ll keep my eye out for a copy, I don’t see one right now though. Best, Abby

Page-Lewis c1925 Single Shot Rifles (eventually bought by Savage): Hello! i hope this message finds you well. I was wondering if this included any diagram, or parts lists for the Model C Olympic. I have not been able to find anything quite like this online. Thank you so much for your time. Dean
Hi Dean, You have to scroll down through all the ebay nonsense to get to the information we posted about the catalog, there is a parts list but I’m afraid there is no diagram. ********************************************** Did a quick look at your E – Bay offerings, hope to make further purchases soon. Question Is it possible to ship manual to friend directly, its a gift and am sure he would be interested in your offerings too. gris-thom (ebay)
Sure, but, of course, it depends on where the friend lives. I they are in the US it should be no problem. Let us know what and where and we will try to help. Cheers, Rob for cornellpubs ********************************************** Sig 550/551 5.56mm Armourer’s Instructions: Hello, would you ship a copy to the Uk? 31260302 (ebay)
Hello, You can try. Ebay handles our shipping overseas, but, between the two countries, many publications are not allowed past the local customs authorities so Ebay blocks the sale. I had a Tranter book about pre-1900 revolvers that was denied by the Aussies. Good luck, Rob for cornellpubs (you can buy a pdf at our website if it doesn’t work for you.) ********************************************** Perazzi c1990 Shotguns (Italy- in English): Not sure what this is. The one photo you have included on your eBay ad does not show. Is it a book? Is it an owner’s manual? I’m looking for an owner’s manual and factory literature for my Perazzi MX8 shotgun. Can you please send more photos? Thanks! Jeff jsgoldm25 (ebay)
Hi Jeff, It is a catalog, the pic shows the cover and an inside page. Scroll down past all the ebay nonsense and you will get the details and the contents. Cheers, Rob for cornellpubs. ********************************************** Hi! I have searched your site for a manual for a Winchester Model 65 32WCF made in 1938. Are you able to find one or do you have one in your library that has not yet been reproduced? Jeffery Hi Jeffrey, Sorry, I don’t see one in any of our publications. There is a good plan view of parts for the rifle in this parts book: Winchester 1938 Component Parts Catalog. If you can take the time to compare the parts with other Winchesters to find a similar one, I might have a manual for that. Abby

RB Rodda & Co. Indian Gun Catalogue 1929-30 (Calcutta): Do you have any James Kirk Gunmaker of Ayr Scotland catalogs brochures books etc Cheers carvterterr: (ebay)
James Kirk is mentioned in this publication (I don’t know if they are on eBay though): Side by Sides of the World – Carder
Okey thanks, I’ll have a look, I own the company and was looking for some history of the firm.
I just looked at the listing in S by S of the World and it would be no help to you, “no further information available.” John Walters Dictionary of Guns and Gun Makers says: of 36 Union Buildings, Ayr, Scotland handled a variety of sporting guns and accessories, as well as shotgun cartridges sold under such brand names as Land of Burns, and Retriever. From that, I assume Kirk was a reseller, not a maker, although, he may have branded guns made by others. I hope this helps.
I do know that James Kirk worked for various Glasgow gunmakers before opening his own business in Ayr. I think that all of the James Kirk shotguns were made by the trade in Birmingham and probably finished by Kirk or an apprentice in the Ayr shop. Thanks for your help.

Good morning Rob, Just to let you know …. that I did receive the February 1957 edition of the Colt revolvers and automatic pistols in the Thursday morning mail run and in good shape..👍 Thank you so much again, for all your continued help and support with this item. Also, I certainly do hope and pray that you have a super great, totally blessed, safe, healthy and real prosperous remaining year, too … Thanks and try to stay safe, my friend, Tom Case, Army Special Forces, DAV

Good evening, I am interested in some of you H&R catalogs. I have some originals that I pick up when I can but your reprints would be nice to fill in some of the holes. Are you reprints marked in anyway to show they are reprints? As in, is there a way to easily tell what is original vs reprint besides knowing the paper? Thanks for your time, Stan sandriski (ebay)
Stan, Our reprints are distinguishable from original. Most have our logo on the last page and our binding is different than most originals. We use cardstock rather than paper for covers etc. We do not want our reprints to be sold as originals. Cheers, Rob

can you help me identify a fajen stock. James earl eaves
No, I’m sorry, we just don’t have time to do research for our customers, We do have a couple of Fajen stock catalogs, one c1950 and the other 1995. With over 6000 publications spanning 150 years and over 50,000 customers, you can imagine the number of requests for research we get! Best, Abby

Do you have an assembly/disassembly manual for the H & R “Sportsman” Single Action .22lr? Year of manufacture is not known. S/N: SXXX located on front strap of frame. Thank you for your assistance. Kevin MacIntyre
Hello Kevin, I think the best we can offer is a schematic drawing of the Sportsman 999 which shows clearly where each part fits. Harrington & Richardson Schematic Drawings Best, Abby

Just a note, your serial numbers reference page has a link for “Walther P-38 Serial Numbers and Date of Manufacture” That website is apparently for sale and the link asks if you want to see sites for dating Germans, including “mature” sites. Yikes! Thanks for all you do, Dan
Ach du lieber! I’ll add it to the list of things to do, thanks. Rob

Schoverling, Daly & Gales 1915 Catalog: Say, since you have most SD&G catalogs find me something that covers circa !910, 10Ga. hammerless made by HA Lindne under the Charles Daly name.. I’m looking for that one. Will buy. Thank you, 1peterwright
Hello, The Schoverling, Daly and Gales catalogs all feature Daly guns. I suppose the 1912 is the closest we come to your gun in years and the copy indicates they make the gun in 10ga. They don’t, however, mention the name of the person or cottage that actually fashioned the weapon. Cheers, Rob for cornellpubs

Hello: I purchased a book from you a while back on Gunbroker. I’ve either loaned it out or lost it. It was published during WW 2 and was a compendium on allied and axis weapons. It went over recognition, operation, disassembly and assembly. It had a color cover with drawings of the various guns it covered and probably about 1/2 inch thick. Hopefully I’ve given you enough clue that you can locate it. I need to buy another copy. Thank you, Sergeant Robert B. Chenoweth, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Preparedness & Response, Central Armory Supervisor, Quick Response Force
Hello Sergeant, I think it was one of the following, but let us know if it was something else and we’ll look some more:
A Basic Manual of Military Small Arms 1943, Small Arms of the World
A Basic Manual of Military Small Arms 1945, Small Arms of the World
A Basic Manual of Military Small Arms 1951, Small Arms of the World
A Basic Manual of Military Small Arms 1957, Small Arms of the World
(It was the 1943 version-ed)
