ICE PLANS ‘WARTIME RECRUITMENT’ PUSH TARGETING GUN SHOWS, MILITARY FANS U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are planning to spend $100 million in 2026 to recruit gun-rights supporters and military enthusiasts through online influencers and a geo-targeted advertising campaign, part of what the agency called a ‘wartime recruitment’ strategy it said was critical to hiring thousands of new deportation officers nationwide, according to an internal document reviewed by the Washington Post: JOIN ICE
WE HAVE A POLICY AGAINST SHOOTING CUSTOMERS… An Oklahoma 7-Eleven worker says she was fired for shooting an attacker who tried to strangle her. Stephanie Dilyard, 25, said she was working the night shift alone when she was attacked by Kenneth Thompson, 59. Reaching for her handgun, Dilyard shot Thompson in the stomach. He survived but Dilyard was later fired by managers for a “violation of policy.” Dilyard has no regrets, saying she did what I had to do to go home to my kids.”
“THE BLOB” FOR REAL… after scientists exploring the ruined Chernobyl nuclear power plant found several new strains of mold that seem to “feed” on gamma radiation much like plants thrive on sunlight. NASA is studying whether the mold could be used to protect astronauts from cosmic rays.
ALL SHOOK UP… A Missouri judge resigned after a state oversight commission found he’d repeatedly worn an Elvis Presley wig in court, quoted Presley lyrics during proceedings, and allowed witnesses be sworn in to the late singers music. In a resignation letter, Judge Matthew Thornhill admitted to using “levity” to try to “help relax litigants,” but said he now understands that he had jeopardized the “integrity and solemnity of the proceedings.”
BUC-EES, the Texas based gas-station chain, is suing an Oklahoma underwear firm for trademark infringement. Jarrad Hewett, owner of Nut Huggers apparel, said he’s perplexed by the complaint, because Buc-ees logo features a cartoon beaver, while his own is a squirrel holding a pair of acorns. Having failed to mortify Buc-ee’s with design changes, Hewitt says he is ready for court and is confident Buc-ee’s will find it erred in believing that it “owed all cartoon rodents.” And, yes, beavers are rodents.
LITERACY-STIR STYLE, after Austin Siebert, 30, was convicted of of smuggling drugs into an Ohio prison by spraying a narcotics solution onto the pages of JD Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy. At trial, prosecutors played audio of Siebert, 30, claiming the vice president’s gritty coming-of-age memoir is “the book I’m reading,” and describing it falsely as a “(expletive} romance novel.”

Ref: Lee Enfield – US Rifle Model 1917 – .30 Cal (brown) (1918 ed) Handbook. Aanthony442 eBay. Hello, and thank you for the quick delivery of the item. But unfortunately, I thought it was a real rifle.Soldier’s handbook and it is just a photocopy of a book.I would like to return this. Not very happy. How could you do that? Anthony Wilson
A real rifle for $20, right? OK, I’ll refund your purchase as soon as we receive the copy of the book we sent you. Oh yes, you’re right, it is a copy of the original, read the ad!

I received this today and am quite disappointed!!! Apparently you copied a folded book as if it was not? Hence, to use it, I will need cut the pages with a blade and put them in order’ copy’ and then have a readable version on copy paper with no binding. I really WASTED and THREW OUT TWENTY BUCKS!!!!!
It sounds to me as if the book was misprinted. I’m sorry and will print a new one right away. It should go in the mail today. Again, my apologies. Rob for cornellpubs
Thank you! I have enjoyed purchases from you in past — all of which were stellar! This booklet, as delivered to me, makes ZERO sense — their pages are not numbered, and the sequence is pretty near impossible. Thank you again for your response; I appreciate it greatly! geo
As I said, it was misprinted. It happens, but fortunately, rarely. No need to get wound up with capital letters and exclamatory language.

I bought two catalogs with the understanding that these were original catalogs based on the title of the listing and the print year. Nowhere in the listing name or the description was there a disclaimer that these are not originals. My goal with these was to frame them as art, which is not going to work as the front isn’t even the front shown in the pictures and has the expanded white paper around it. If you cannot provide the original catalogs then please provide a return label, refund, and update your listing titles to disclose that these are reproductions. CJ
I appreciate your interest in framing original copies of vintage publications. I do have the originals of these two advertising pieces and can list them for you to buy if you wish. The price will be $220.00 each. I would like to point out that the second line of the description of each item clearly states that each is a reprint: “New re-print restored and digitally enhanced from a nice original.” We have sold thousands of firearms reprints on eBay for over 20 years with few complaints. Because we print to order and never resell used merchandise, you may keep the copies you bought at no charge. When Abby returns from the Christmas holiday, she will refund your purchase price. Oh yes, if you want to frame the covers of the pieces you bought, you could easily trim off the white border. Rob for cornellpubs

We have this one, “Hotchkiss M1922 Aircraft Type Drum Feed Observer’s Gun- Manual“, but we don’t have anyone to add the listing until 1/15/25, it is only on the website. Thanks, Karen for cornellpubs

Another Season approaches, just a line to say Thank You for your newsletter which I thoroughly enjoy, and all your efforts to provide copies of hard to find firearms manuals and catalogues and to wish you and Rob a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Cheers from (sometimes) sunny Aus. Keith.

Ref: AR7 and 7s Explorer Survival Rifle by Charter Arms. Do you have this in an A2 (24×18) format? Davemact eBay
No, we could print it in 11″ x 17″, but frankly, the letter size is perfectly adequate.Rob
I’m just trying to match a format. I thought that a series of similar-sized prints along the ‘wall of important gun history’ would look groovy, instead of ‘ perfectly adequate.’.
Although we don’t offer pdfs at eBay, you could order one on the website and have Staples or someone blow it up for you. Rob for cornellpubs

Ref: Stemmler c1945 Archery Catalog. is there a page mentioning boomerangs? maybe with illustration? page 17 maybe? hightree!, later: I just read it in the description it has a page on boomerangs, I’m curious about the 1927 and 1935 catalog. Thanks!

No boomerangs, sorry. Abby
Dear Abby, It seems not in the 1927 and 1935 issue but in the 1945 issue it’s on page 17, right? kind regards, Harold
Yes, that is correct. Abby
I just realized i bought a facsimile of the original catalog. I see it was in the item description but not in the header. I bought to scan a page which I want to include in a book, but the scan a reprint won’t do the quality any good. May I ask if you can provide with a high resolution scan from page 17 with boomerangs? That would really help me. This way I’m more sure I haven’t any extra quality loss. Thank you!
I’m sorry, I didn’t do the scans, and I don’t have the original, so I can’t help much. Cheers, Rob for cornellpubs
Well I took a wrong gamble then. Wish I read the word reprint which was not in the header of the auction. Still hope the quality of the reprint is extremely close to the original but that will be wishful thinking. I only collect originals and wasn’t aware facsimiles of stemmler catalogs were made because the catalogs are quite numerous on ebay.
Sigh, Rob

Ref: Belgium, Shotgun Making in (A Short History). Hi, is this one coming in a book format with like binding, covers etc? Would you mind sharing some details? Thx!
The ad says it pretty well: “132 pages, about 8 1/2″ x 11″ glossy soft-cover in full color. Newly reprinted with permission. Printed on high quality 20# 97 bright acid free paper. Fully Illustrated with photocopied images (some of the rarest guns are depicted with low quality images).” I can add that when books are thick enough, we print the spine with the item name. Myron, The manual you bought covers the 12ga as well as other bore guns they made. Rob for cornellpubs

Good day, I’m in need of a schematic/exploded diagram or user manual for a pistol. BERNARDELLI (VT GARDONE) PO18 compact in 9x21mm. The pistol is currently only firing single action (due to a missing pin probably caused by prolonged use of 9×19 ammo) Any assistance you can render will be much appreciated! Hello Y, I am sorry, but everything we have is at the website. Have you searched there? Rob

I’m looking at grabbing the cover of a couple of early Mannlicher catalogs to go along with some stories. How exactly would you like me to give you credit, i.e. “Courtesy of…” or “With permission from…”, etc. Kerry
Thanks, Kerry, how about “Image is thanks to Cornell Publications (cornellpubs.com)”? Rob

Ref: Winchester 1880 Aug- Fire Arms May Gun Catalog. Do the contents contain information on the 1879 Winchester double barrel shotgun, which do not show on the list of contents. sasquatch60 eBay.
Interesting question. No, a double didn’t appear in any issue between 1880 and only the repeater shotgun (lever gun) that appeared in the June 1887 issue. The M1897 pump gun appeared in Nov 1897, but I can find no record of a model 1879 shotgun, or any double before, at least, 1900. Rob for cornellpubs

Thanx, Rob. I enjoy your publication reproductions, especially the early stuff. Dennis Adler, in his publication “Guns of the American West” states: ” The 1880 Sales Depot Catalog provided details of the five grades and identified a sixth grade, the Club Gun, which was much like the Class “A”.” This is what I was searching for. Any thoughts on where I might locate such. Do you have the original? George
We only sell reprints, not originals. I don’t know where Dennis got his information, but the shotgun is not in any of the catalogs I looked through, sorry. Rob for cornellpubs
I did find this quote from Morphy Auctions: “It is generally reported that there may have been as many as 10,000 of these shotguns sold by Winchester 1879-1884. They were produced in 5 grades, 10 & 12 ga and 30 & 32″ bbls. Winchester apparently contracted for these shotguns with a variety of English gunmakers.“

Ref: Winchester Model 61 Sequence of Take-Down and Assembly Operations. Is the printed manual higher resolution than the image posted here? The typed text shown at the bottom of the sample page is blurry and illegible. Jdkhalf eBay
Yes, the printed version is fine. The image with the ad is from when we first posted with eBay, and they required low-density images. With 3500 items listed, we have not got around to re-listing them with high-quality images. Sorry. Rob for cornellpubs

Good evening. I did not see the 600 nitro listed in the contents of the catalog. Could you please verify whether the cartridge is included or not? They came out with the 600 in about 1903. Thank you very much CBW Wyoming
CW, There are several .600 bore rifles listed in the catalog. Best, Abby
Thank you very much. Anything about the “new” ammunition? I’m putting together some 600 specific info and think that would be a great addition. CBW
CBW, It doesn’t say New in the ads. Abby

Yes, there is 45-70 load data. Rob for cornellpubs
Can you do 10$ plus shipping?
We don’t fiddle with prices. Our charges are very fair for one-off collating, printing, binding and shipping of otherwise unavailable antique firearms publications. Plus, we have to pay eBay hefty commissions. I’m sorry. Rob for cornellpubs
I thought it was 20$ for some reason, thought id try for 10$ but i was mistaken it was only 15$ lol. I purchased it. Thank you have a nice day
